Ingredient specifications are more transparent than ever, and price competition gets tighter every year. When more suppliers can offer the same ingredient, where does the next round of growth come from?
From October 28 to 30, SupplySide Global 2026 brought the supplement, food and beverage industry to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Bonerge exhibited at booth #7911-2 with its branded ingredient portfolio and BonFusion™ delivery platform, and spent three days in conversation with brand owners, R&D teams and supply chain partners from around the world.
Fisetin, urolithin A, S-equol and dihydroberberine remained at the center of customer inquiries and new product development. At the same time, the pressure on the ingredient business is hard to miss. As more suppliers offer comparable materials, margins keep shrinking and products start to look alike.
So whic trends are shaping the market, and how are companies finding new room to grow? Drawing on conversations at our booth, product launches on the show floor and the education program, we summarized six keywords from this year's show.

01 Longevity:
From Anti-Aging Concept to Healthspan People Can Feel
Longevity remained one of the show's central themes, but the market's understanding of it is becoming more specific.
Across exhibits and industry discussions, cognitive health, physical function and metabolic health are emerging as the three pillars of healthspan product development. Givaudan's longevity solutions covered all three areas, with particular emphasis on the role of metabolic health in healthy aging.
PLT Health Solutions, presenting its Experiential Longevity™ platform at the show, argued that longevity has to move beyond early-adopter biohackers to a broader consumer base. In its view, product development needs both clinical science and real market demand behind it.
Healthspan is no longer a distant idea. It is a set of concrete health needs that consumers can actually feel. For ingredient suppliers, the questions are practical: what does the target consumer really care about, and in which applications can an ingredient deliver value?
02 Women's Health:
Expanding Across the Full Life Course
Women's health was another area drawing strong interest. Product development is moving beyond traditional menopause support to cover more life stages, including menstrual health, reproductive health, perimenopause and healthy aging. Needs such as sleep, mood, bone, skin and microbiome health are also entering women's health formulation.
Kaneka Probiotics, for example, presented probiotic and postbiotic solutions for women's health, linking gut microbiome research with emerging areas such as the estrobolome, the group of gut bacteria involved in estrogen metabolism. Artemis International introduced The Artemis Woman, a product line covering different stages of a woman's life.
As the category segments, simply labeling an ingredient "for women's health" is no longer a convincing point of difference. Clear positioning comes from defining the life stage, the target population, the intended benefit and the scientific evidence behind it.
03 GLP-1:
From Drug Buzz to Everyday Nutrition Support
GLP-1 has been one of the most discussed topics in global nutrition for the past two years. At this year's show, attention centered on the daily nutrition needs of people taking these medications.
During weight management, maintaining protein and fiber intake, protecting muscle mass, and improving nutrient density and digestive comfort are creating new product needs. FrieslandCampina showcased protein solutions for GLP-1 users. HTBA launched Leanara® in the US market, focused on preserving muscle and sustaining energy during weight loss. Balchem linked its nutrition solutions to daily performance and long-term vitality, and showed how they can be applied in protein-fortified foods.
This trend opens new applications for protein, fiber and other nutrients. For ingredient suppliers, a shifting market often means new combination opportunities, though positioning still has to rest on sound science and compliant claims.
04 Microbiome:
A Mature Category Finds New Frontiers
The gut microbiome is a mature category, but research keeps pushing its applications further. At SupplySide Global 2026, postbiotics, bacteriophage technologies, and the links between the gut and metabolic, liver, women's and skin health were all part of the conversation.
Maypro showcased postbiotic solutions built around AKK PROBIO. Verb Biotics launched LX03™, a Christensenella minuta strain developed around the gut-liver axis. ADM's education sessions also covered innovation in postbiotics and bacteriophages.
05 Delivery Technology:
New Value for Established Ingredients
If the first four trends come from changing consumer demand, delivery technology speaks more directly to an ingredient supplier's own ability to innovate.
Many technology showcases addressed one practical question: how to get an ingredient into the finished product successfully, solving for dispersibility, stability, release profile and dosage form compatibility.
One notable example was CoreFX's CreaSHLD-IN. Creatine itself is not a new ingredient, but its stability and dispersion in beverages and gummies have long been a challenge. CoreFX's shielding technology improves how creatine performs across formats, with reported creatine recovery of 99% in a pectin gummy and 100% in a gelatin gummy. These are formulation test results, not human absorption or bioavailability data.
RFI Ingredients presented its NSR controlled-release technology. A protein and polysaccharide complex responds to pH, helping actives pass through the stomach and release further along the digestive tract.
The value of delivery technology goes beyond easier processing. It expands the formats and applications an ingredient can reach. A lasting advantage comes from understanding an ingredient's physicochemical properties, identifying the real pain points in formulation, and offering technical solutions that can be verified.
06 Clinical Science:
The Depth of Evidence Defines the Depth of Value
From longevity to women's health, from the microbiome to delivery technology, scientific research ran through nearly every major topic at the show.
PLT Health Solutions emphasized clinical research and scientific interpretation as the foundation of healthspan product development. PhytoGaia shared research progress in healthy aging and liver health. Multiple education sessions on GLP-1 and the microbiome also reflected the industry's ongoing focus on clinical evidence and mechanisms of action.
For ingredient companies, research is worth far more than marketing material. Ingredient standards, effective dose, target population, study endpoints and finished-product formulation need to form one coherent development system. Science becomes a competitive advantage only when research results are translated into clear product positioning and credible application solutions.
Inside Bonerge's Presence at SupplySide Global 2026
Delivery technology and clinical science, the last two keywords on our list, were also the focus of Bonerge's own presence at the show.
Booth #7911-2: Four Ingredients, Four Health Areas
Our booth carried the theme "Beyond Ingredients. Building the Future of Health." Each ingredient was matched to a clear health area and the evidence behind it.
Ingredient | Health area | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
Cellular Longevity: inflammation, metabolic health, healthspan |
| |
Menopause Health: hot flashes, night sweats, sleep support |
| |
Circadian & Sleep Recovery: beyond melatonin, gut barrier support |
| |
Liver Metabolic Health: healthy liver fat balance |
|
The booth also featured our ongoing human clinical programs in sleep quality, menopausal wellness and liver metabolic health, each run with university and research partners.

Four ingredients, four health areas.
Alongside standard powder specifications, the front counter introduced innovative formats built on our BonFusion™ delivery platform, including water-dispersible fisetin, water-dispersible urolithin A and water-soluble dihydromyricetin.

New Products Zone: BonFusion™ Urolithin A in Two New Formats
The New Products Zone is SupplySide Global's dedicated showcase of the newest ingredients and finished products, and a regular stop for visitors looking for what comes next. Bonerge's display case featured two new formats made with StanYouth® Urolithin A.
BonFusion™ Water-Dispersible Urolithin A. Urolithin A is highly hydrophobic and largely insoluble in water. BonFusion™ technology combines nanocrystallization with lipid carriers to turn it into a powder that disperses rapidly and uniformly in water. It pairs 70% urolithin A content with 3x higher bioavailability, making next-generation urolithin A products easier to formulate.
BonFusion™ Urolithin A Softgel. For poorly soluble actives, softgel performance does not depend on the capsule shell alone. It begins with what happens inside the capsule. Conventional urolithin A softgels often fail to disperse in water, forming oily clumps that sink. BonFusion™ addresses this with a homogeneous, self-emulsifying fill that disperses quickly on contact with water.
Side-by-side samples in the case made the difference easy to see: regular urolithin A powder settles in water, while the BonFusion™ version forms a uniform dispersion.

Across the Show Floor: Our Booth Video on the Corridor Screens

Conversations at the Booth
Over three days, our team met brand owners, formulators, R&D specialists and distributors from around the world. Many conversations began with a single ingredient and moved quickly to the questions in this report: which format fits the product, what the evidence shows, and how to position it for a specific consumer.

Final Thoughts: Moving Beyond Commoditization
For the ingredient industry, the lesson from these examples is practical. When more and more companies can supply similar ingredients, price is hard to sustain as a long-term advantage.
What sets a supplier apart is the ability to understand market needs, deepen ingredient research, solve real problems in product development, and turn technology and scientific evidence into solutions customers can actually use. Moving beyond commoditization is less about the ingredient itself and more about the product value built around it.
That is the approach behind everything we do at Bonerge: we start with science, advance through clinical evidence, and deliver through products.
