About S-equol
As the final metabolite of soy isoflavones, equol exists in isomeric forms, with s-equol being the natural isomer produced by gut flora. It is the only product synthesized from daidzein by human intestinal bacteria, yet only 20%–35% of adults can produce it.
S-equol shows high affinity for estrogen receptor β (ERβ) and offers potential health benefits, including relief of menopausal symptoms, neuroprotection, cardiovascular support, and improvement of metabolic syndrome.
