Bonerge guarantees its customers, its employees, and nature free from methanol.

What’s the difference between not detected and not used?

We all know that methanol is a harmful solvent frequently used in the extraction process of botanical products for its good solubility and relatively low cost. How to identify if methanol is used in the process of a dietary ingredient? The most common way is to see its Certification of Analysis(CoA). The testing methods and acceptance criteria are usually listed by the manufacturer on a CoA. Before reading a CoA, we should know the difference between meeting the requirement, not detected and not used.

1 Meeting the requirement

For example, if the requirement for Residual Methanol is 500 ppm, and the test result is 400 ppm, we conclude it meets the requirement.

To accurately determine the content of Residual Methanol in a product, the content of methanol should be over the Limit of Quantification.

To detect whether there is any Residual Methanol, the content of methanol should be over the Limit of Detection.

2 Not detected

When we say residual methanol is not detected, technically, we think it contains no methanol or it’s methanol free.

However, the truth might be there is still residual methanol but the amount is below the Limit of Detection.

3 Not used

Methanol is not used in the whole process of StanYouth™ and of course, the testing result for residual methanol is Not Detected.

Any finished products should meet the requirement for methanol set by local or international regulations before releasing to the market. Ingredients are the key factor to the quality and safety of the end products which will go to the customers directly.

If the ingredients or finished products meet the requirement for residual methanol, they can be stated as qualified and safe ingredients or products as long as the appropriate dosage is taken. That met the basic needs of most people.

However, it’s far from perfect for people who pursue real clean, and healthy ingredients, and who love nature. While meeting the requirements simply guarantees the quality and safety of ingredients and finished products, StanYouth™ supported by BongeLov™ system is more than quality and safety.

At Bonerge, the quality and safety of the ingredients are at the center of all. Bonerge cares for its customers, offering quality and safe ingredients to the world.

Bonerge cares for the nature and environment, methanol is not used during the whole process thus the most natural ingredients were extracted with water. No organic solvent waste will go into the environment from Bonerge’s factory. It’s been the traditional way for thousands of years and human beings have lived in harmony with nature. The botanical source for StanYouth™ was used as herbal medicine in Ancient Europe and China, water was the solvent used traditionally.

Bonerge cares for its employees, none of its employees will be exposed to methanol in the factory. Even though the residual solvent could be removed from the end products to some extent, the employees are still exposed to methanol solvents during the process.

Bonerge guarantees its customers, its employees, and nature free from methanol.
